How to Use ChatGPT and DALL-E to Recreate Trip Advisor with Just $53
Get the story-behind-the-story on how to leverage generative AI at scale
Lee Mallon just recreated a Trip Advisor-like website in 15 hours. The cost? $53. He used ChatGPT and DALL-E to create Kidventuresai.com, focusing on family-friendly activities in 237 cities.
I asked Lee to join me on the Voicebot Podcast to break down the concept and implementation in more depth. We cover everything from the process to the different levels of effort for each activity and his key learnings and pro tips. We also discussed what he did about proofreading and editing all those web pages. 😀
Key Stats
Kidventuresai.com includes ten activity listings for 237 capital cities around the world. That adds up to over 2,370 individual web pages with 2,670 images and nearly a quarter million words. Lee’s story will give you a sense of how much one person can accomplish with generative AI tools in two days.
You can see Lee’s full write-up on the experience on his blog here. The video interview goes into more depth and also covers his experience creating a new hotel brand concept in just seven hours, complete with brochures and branding. That discussion includes his comparison of DALL-E and Midjourney since he used one for each of the projects.
Voice Assistants, Monetization, and More
Finally, Lee and I both have a lot of experience with voice assistants, so we go into depth about what this may mean for that product category. He has some specific ideas about how architecture will change.
If you’d prefer to listen to the interview, you can find that on the Voicebot Podcast through the buttons below. Or, just watch the video above on YouTube. It includes some interesting graphics, so you might prefer the multimodal video experience.
