The custom GPT bot building feauture is going to put some startups out of business - and possibly some bigger ones if OpenAI grows it into a mature platform for businesses to build and maintain their chatbots on.
I agree Ii will be hard to compete with a platform that has broad support from third-party services. And many of these services don't have great momentum at the moment. However, for now, it looks like My GPT is going to be for personal use and will not have management features that many businesses need. In addition, we don't know what the economics will be for running the bot like this at scale.
I'm not sure this will kill the market for bot builders just yet!
Fair points - yes, on first glance it looks like custom instructions on steroids. Tapping into the market of Character.ai. I wouldn't be surprised if they moved towards business applications over time.
