Integrating Generative AI Into Media and Entertainment Use Cases and Workflows
Veritone demo and perspective on voice clones, content creation, and scale
Rupal Patel, vice president of voice at Veritone, and Corey Hill, a product manager for synthetic media solutions, offered some real-world examples of generative AI use for media and entertainment at the Synthedia 3 Generative AI Innovation Showcase last week. You can see Patel’s and Hill’s demo and discussion by clicking the video above.
The session included a demo of two large language model (LLM) enabled features for summarizing content and using synthetic voices. However, the most interesting element may have been the tools and workflow.
Speed, Scale, and Monetization
Veritone already has a stack of media management solutions for media and entertainment companies. Patel and Hill showed how combining existing media management tools with generative AI can enable more efficient content production and customization at scale. Patel referred to this as “accelerating synthetic content creation” and commented:
The core tenet here is that for complex problems what we are doing is helping our clients which are really big name companies such as iHeart and Fox to think about how they can include AI into their workflow so they can have increased brand awareness, also increased reach, and do things at scale.
…
Monetization, of course, is [another] core tenet of what we do. Not just improving revenue from the revenue streams that they have now, but also increasing retention, and finding new revenue models by using AI.
Hill added:
“From a generative perspective, we’re developing an ecosystem around media and entertainment and a few key personas … to enable them to deliver more quickly and accelerate that content creation journey.”
Making Generative AI Enterprise Ready
Over the past few months, we have seen many genetive AI demonstrations pop up as ad hoc features or proofs of concept. Advancing the technology and refining it to support a specific use case is the minimum threshold for getting started.
Enterprises also need tools and workflows that facilitate the media creation process. Veritone focuses in its demo and discussion on what production-ready solutions look like for generative AI, which also signals that the market is rapidly maturing.
