How long can the penalty for using AI last? My website got penalized although I edited all paragraphs manually. So far it's not recovering and I'm wondering if I should start over with another website.
That's a good question. I am not sure. However, at some point, Google will have to come up with a better algorithm. So many sites already have AI generated content, even those with high page rank such as BuzzFeed, that Google will have to reconsider what is authentic and worth referrals. For example, if you use Google Bard to write part of your blog post, will that be penalized? It is an expected use case.
With that said, I know it is hard to recover from a Google downgrade. The answer probably depends on how much brand and inbound linking you already have invested.
