OpenAI is Taking Applications for DevDay This Week Only
A quick notification in case you missed the announcement earlier today
OpenAI has just announced that it is now accepting applications to attend its first developer conference. DevDay is scheduled for November 6, 2023, and will be held in San Francisco. You can apply here.
In-person attendees will be able to participate in the keynote, breakout sessions, and an evening reception.
Breakout sessions will include technical deep dives into our newest APIs and features, best practices for developing AI-powered products, stories from developers building completely new experiences with AI, and much more.
How to Attend OpenAI DevDay
There is more demand for admission tickets than space available for attendees, thus the application process. The company will accept applications through this Friday at 11:59 p.m. PT, but I’d recommend submitting earlier instead of later if you want to attend. The cost to attend will be $450, and a limited number of scholarships are available.
Past use and novel plans for the use of OpenAI foundation models will likely increase your chance of acceptance. With that said, I spoke with someone inside the company and it remains unclear what will be prioritized for acceptance.
You Can Watch the Keynote Online
If you know you cannot attend or your application is not accepted, the keynote will be live-streamed at 10:00 a.m. PT on November 6th. This will be fine for most people. However, if you are actively developing generative AI applications, the breakout sessions and connection with OpenAI engineers will likely be very valuable.
I hope you don’t mind me sending this to your inbox, as I recognize many subscribers will not be interested in attending. Since this is such a highly anticipated event with limited access, I wanted to ensure the Synthedia community knew about it today. 🚀
