Bret, great article. How many ISV are their 10,000? 20,000? I suspect 80% have or are in the process of implementing an LLM. Do you have a sense of which Foundational Model most are using? (I assume 90% are using OpenAI due to time to market and API availability, but this is only a guess)

I believe nearly all are implementing OpenAI but I do not have confirmation. OpenAI has benefitted greatly from the rapid market uptake and interest. That has led many software developers to try out LLMs using OpenAI. When they go to scale the solution, they have the choice to scale up OpenAI's APIs or start over with a new provide that may provide better economics, features, or data privacy. However, urgency may propel them to stick with OpenAI and then consider an alternative at a later date. The longer that decision is delayed, the more inertia accumulates to stick with the status quo. This is a compounding benefit of first-mover advantage in fast-adoption markets.
