Synthedia Surpasses 500k Page Views and 370 Posts

We also list the Top 10 newsletter articles since launch

Synthedia launched in August 2022 to provide more focused attention to synthetic media and generative AI technologies. It grew out of Voicebot.ai’s coverage of these technologies, dating back to 2017. At the time, Voicebot had over 150 stories on the topics most people now call generative AI.

There are now over 370 issues of the Synthedia newsletter and nearly 500 articles in Voicebot.ai. Earlier this month, Synthedia surpassed 500,000 page views.

A Barometer for Market Demand

We are proud of the work we do at Synthedia and Voicebot, but also recognize that page views are a reflection of demand for information. The newsletter’s launch timing turned out to be propitious. AI text-to-image generation solutions were growing quickly, and a few companies were already seeing success leveraging OpenAI’s GPT-3 API.

Interest was strong from the start for a newsletter focused solely on generative AI, but it became even more intense with the debut of ChatGPT. That became Synthedia’s first article post to reach over 2,000 views, and interest escalated from there.

At the time, we had just over 20,000 views for all Synthedia posts over three months. December tallied about 14,000 post views, and January 2023 exceeded 25,000. Today, the monthly views are well over 50,000. These data points are provided here so you can get a sense about where the industry came from and where we are today.

Top 10 Synthedia Posts

The most popular stories published so far by Synthedia tend to revolve around OpenAI’s technology products, key rivals, or market data. In fact, the top four stories all relate directly to ChatGPT.

Since Synthedia is email first and subscriber-based, more recent stories benefitted from higher direct distribution counts. However, the top story was from March and number three published in May. These articles were shared widely near the height of interest surrounding generative AI in general, and ChatGPT in particular.
